"Help a Bronco Graduate" General Scholarship




Eligibility:
• Full-time student
• Good academic standing
• Demonstrates financial need as confirmed by Financial Aid Office
• On track to graduate at the end of the semester
• International students may apply





"Help a Bronco Graduate" Parley Scholarship



Eligibility:
• Good academic standing; preference may be given to student(s) approaching graduation.
• On track to graduate at the end of the semester.
• Demonstrated financial needs as confirmed by Financial Aid Office.
• May be in jeopardy of dropping out of school due to insufficient financial resources.
• Preference given to students US born residents of the Bronx, however, international students remain eligible.
Award: 
• Award amount: Up to $1,500.00 per semester.
• Student(s) who maintain eligibility may receive renewed scholarship funding for up to one (1) additional year.





Alumni Scholarship



Eligibility:
• Full-time student(s).
• Good academic standing.
• Demonstrates financial need as confirmed by Financial Aid Office.
• International students may apply.





Amadou Diallo Memorial Scholarship



The Amadou Diallo Foundation Inc. Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Amadou Diallo who came to the United States with the goal of furthering his education but was shot and killed by four New York Police Department officers in 1999. Since his death, his mother and the trustees of the Amadou Diallo Foundation (ADF) have dedicated themselves to supporting scholarships to help college students complete their degrees and to promoting racial healing and positive community interaction with law enforcement. The ADF and Bronx Community College have a longstanding partnership.





Applied Science Support Scholarship



Eligibility
A Bronx Community College student who:
  • Is in good academic standing
  • Has a demonstrated financial need for educational support
  • Has graduated from a New York state high school
  • Is enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) in an Associate of Applied Science degree program
  • Has been affected by incarceration, either personally or with respect to a biological parent
Award
  • Five (5) students will be selected to receive the scholarship annually
  • Each student will receive $1,000 (split $500 each semester, Fall and Spring) for books and/or other educational supplies (not tuition).
  • Scholarship may be renewed for up to one additional academic year, if student maintains a 3.0 GPA or higher and continues in an Applied Science degree program.
  • Students will be selected based on the eligibility requirements as outlined above.





Con Edison STEM Scholarship



The Con Edison STEM scholarship has the following criteria:
  • Students enrolled full-time.
  • Recommended by the office of financial aid in consultation with key STEM faculty.
  • Undergraduate students majoring in the field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, NOT related to the health field.


 





David and Pastora Blot



Eligibility
•Currently enrolled and matriculated BCC student in good academic standing.
•Demonstrates financial need; may be in jeopardy of dropping out school due to insufficient financial resources.
•On track to graduate at the end of the semester in which scholarship will be awarded.
•Preference may be given to a student of Dominican descent.
Award
•$1,000 for one academic year, cover educational expenses of the student only.
•Selection made based on student's demonstrated educational need.
•Will be awarded in the Spring semester.





Dean DoloresJ. Bullard Mem. Scholarship



 
ELIGIBILITY:
• Enrolled, full-time BCC student 
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• In good academic Standing
• Female Preferred
• Volunteer or participated in community service (Activity
   can be internal- with in BCC, or external- in the community)
• One student selected per academic year
• Student will be selected by the Financial Aid/Scholarship
   Office

AWARD:
• Award amount is $1,000 per year (award may be split bet.
   2 consective semesters (Fall/Spring)





Entrepreneurship Education Scholarship



  • Full-time BCC student.
  • GPA 2.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated financial need as confirmed by Financial Aid.
  • International students may apply.





General Scholarship



Eligibility:
• Full-time student.
• Good academic standing.
• Demonstrates financial need as confirmed by Financial Aid Office.
• May be awarded to more than one student.
• International students may apply.
*Restrictions applies: $1,000 will be awarded to one (1) student majoring in a STEM Program





General Scholarship International Student



This scholarship is for the following group of students:

Student is enrolled full-time
Has good academic standing
Demonstrates financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office
Preference given to students from the continent of Africa. 





IT Serve Alliance CSR STEM Scholarship



Eligibility:
A matriculated Bronx Community College student(s) who:
• Is in good academic standing with a GPA 3.0 or above;
• Has demonstrated financial need;
• Preference given to students of traditionally underrepresented ethnic minority groups.

Award:
• A scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to two (2) students at $5,000 each; 
• The funds will be split between the Fall ($2,500) and Spring ($2,500) semester;
• The students will be selected and awarded by the Office of Financial Aid;
• Fund availability must be confirmed by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations annually, prior to awarding.
Students are selected by the Scholarship Office





Kalief Browder Memorial Scholarship



The Kalief Browder Memorial Scholarship fund was established to help formerly incarcerated Bronx Community College (BCC) students stay in school and achieve their life’s goals.

Eligibility:
  • Formerly incarcerated and currently enrolled full-time at Bronx Community College;
  • Is in good academic standing and has completed a minimum of 12 credits;
  • Has a minimum of 1 additional year at BCC to successfully participate in the program (Students on track to graduate in less than one year/two semesters are ineligible);
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by Financial Aid;
  • Completed an essay on “How the Kalief Browder Memorial Scholarship will help me achieve my academic, personal and professional goals”;
  • Preference given to students currently/formerly in foster care, though not a requirement.





Lisa Nuse P. Franklin Women's Health and Community Service Scholarship



Lisa Nuse P. Frankin (1968 -2015) was an accomplished professional dancer, educator, and community activist. During her career Ms. Franklin performed with African dance companies in New York and Dallas. Ms. Franklin directed community and school based arts/literacy education programs for students Pre-K through grade 12. As a university educator Ms. Franklin was employed with numerous CUNY campuses as an instructor and administrator.


Eligibility
  • Currently enrolled, full-time BCC student.
  • Female students from the African Diaspora preferred.
  • GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Enrolled in a human service and/or science related fields that impact on community health care.
  • Demonstrated need of financial support.
  • Be a member in active standing of a BCC Student Life club.
  • Must have demonstrated acts of service and empowerment for the benefit of local or global female communities.
  • Submit a maximum 500 word essay that should answer, “What do you think is the number one health issue confronting women of the African Diaspora, and once you acquire your credentials, how will you make a difference?”





Mary and Ika Goodwin Memorial Scholarship



The purpose of this award is designed to provide transitional financial support for a student graduating from the Special Educational Services Department (currently renamed as Education and Academic Literacy Department) at Bronx Community College.

This award is intended to provide assistance for graduating students as they purchase textbooks/materials during the first semester of the student’s enrollment in a CUNY or SUNY university following their graduation from BCC.

Eligibility:
  • Bronx Community College student(s) who:
  • Has demonstrated financial need as determined by BCC’s Office of Financial Aid;
  • Has a GPA of 3.0 or greater;
  • Is in their final semester and expecting to graduate from BCC in the Spring;
  • Has completed a course of study in the Education Associates Curriculum at Bronx Community College;
  • Desires to educate students with exceptional needs;
  • Has been accepted and plans on transferring to a CUNY/SUNY college to continue their education following graduation from BCC.





Municipal Credit Union Scholarship



The scholarship is offered to the following students:

Elgibility:
  • Enrolled full-time.
  • GPA of 2.3 or higher.
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
  • International students qualify.





Najee Scholarship








Pershing Rifles Company E-8/Bob Fernandez Scholarship



Pershing Rifles, Company E-8 existed on the “Heights” campus from 1948-1972 when it was New York University (NYU). It is through Pershing Rifles, Company E-8 that alumni came together to establish the Pershing Rifles Company E-8/Bob Fernandez Scholarship to provide educational scholarships to eligible students at Bronx Community College (BCC) who have a deep financial need. It will assist deserving students, who are at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints, stay in school and ultimately graduate.


Eligibility:
•Good academic standing.
•Student has to demonstrate financial need.
•Is in jeopardy of dropping out of school due to insufficient financial resources.
•Will utilize funds to support final semester at BCC to ensure graduation.                            
 •International students are ineligible for this award
Award Information
•$2,500.00* per semester will be made available for scholarship awards (Fall and spring semesters).
•Awards may be given to more than one student, but may not exceed the budgeted amount.
•Award must be given out as the "Pershing Rifles Company E-8/Bob Fernandez Scholarship". 





Ponce Minority College Scholarship



ELIGIBILTY:
• Scholarship must be awarded to a minority students, who resides within Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) community.
• The gift may be renewed annually at Donor's sole discretion.
• Recipients must be known and publicized as the Ponce-CUNY Scholars.
•  Each college must complete a Ponce Bank Scholarship form per awarding student.
AWARD:
•  Award amount is $1,000 per student.





Reid Strieby & Rhonda Liss Scholarship



Mission
The Scholarship will be awarded to a CLIP “Exiting Student” enrolled at BCC and has demonstrated interest in contributing to their community.
ELIGIBILTY:
The Reid Strieby & Rhonda Liss Scholarship will be given to a BCC student who meets the following criteria:
• BCC student in good academic standing
• A CLIP “Exiting student”, who has enrolled in Bronx
   Community College
• Has proven interest in his/her community
AWARD:
• Two students awarded per academic year (1 student in
   Fall semester and the other in Spring semester)
• Each student is awarded $1,000.00
• Student will be selected by the Financial
   Aid/Scholarship Office





Robert Clarke Memorial Scholarship




Eligibility:
• Good academic standing and demonstrated financial need
• Student taking Chemistry courses.
• The scholarship will be used to provide students with assistance to purchase chemistry books, or to meet other financial needs. 
Award: 
• $500.00 awarded during the Spring semester 
• Awardee will be selected by Financial Aid in conjunction with the department faculty.





Roscoe Brown Scholarship



Scholarship is provided to one full-time student in good academic standing.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Full-time student
  • Has good academic standing.
  • Demonstrates financial need as determined by the financial aid office.
  • International students are eligible.





The SubSathiya Scholarship Fund



The SubSathiya Scholarship seeks to provide educational scholarships to eligible students at Bronx Community College (BCC) who have a deep financial need. The SubSathiya Scholarship is given in honor of Mr. Subramanian and Mr. Sathiyavageeswaran who were helping financially struggling students to complete their school.

Eligibility:
Bronx Community College student who:
• Is in good academic standing;
• Has demonstrated financial need;
• Is currently an Accounting major
• Preference given to student(s) approaching graduation.
• First Preference given to International Students.
Award:
• $250 awarded during the Spring semester
